Helping adults find motivation from within to become consistent exercisers.

Sometimes you just don’t want to exercise. You know it’s good for you and that you should exercise but finding the motivation to make yourself workout is next to impossible. Most people who seek exercise adherence consulting are tired of not exercising but continue to find a million reasons not to. Does this sound familiar?

Run only if you must. If running is an imperative that comes from inside you and not from your doctor. Otherwise, heed the inner calling to your own play. Listen if you can to the person you were and are and can be. Then do what you do best and feel best at. Something you would do for nothing. Something that gives you security and self-acceptance and a feeling of completion.

Do You Feel Ashamed, Guilty, or Lazy for Not Exercising?

Do any of the following resonate with you?

5

You can’t seem to make a plan to exercise and stick to it.

5

You can’t find the time for exercise in your busy schedule.

5

You feel guilty for taking the time to exercise when you have so many other more important things to do.

5

You talk yourself out of going to exercise out of fear of what others might think.

5

You want to exercise but don’t think you’re motivated enough.

If any of these sound true for you, I want you to know that even though you might feel like a failure, that couldn’t be further from the truth. It takes guts to realize that you need help. Even if you think that exercise isn’t a serious enough concern to seek support for, it is. You deserve to make the most of the body you are in.

Exercise Adherence Consulting Can Help You Make the Most of the Body You Are in.

It’s possible to feel better about your exercise routine. Imagine a life where…

  • Exercise is not something that you do – it’s a part of who you are
  • You feel satisfaction for taking care of yourself
  • You have improved attitude, mood, and confidence
  • You feel empowered in other areas of your life knowing that you are taking care of your physical health
  • You look forward to exercising

But I Used to Exercise and Didn’t Lose Weight

To be clear, the goal of Exercise Adherence Consulting is not to help you lose weight. If you happen to lose a few pounds once you’ve become a regular exerciser, that’s great – but that is not the focus here.

The main goal of Exercise Adherence Consulting is to help you make the most of the body you are in – physically and mentally. Did you know that physical inactivity is a leading cause of over 30 chronic diseases? Did you also know that physical activity helps to reduce stress, depression, and anxiety, while also enhancing cognitive functioning and health-related quality of life?

How Exercise Adherence Consulting Works

Exercise Adherence Consulting consists of 50-minute, one-on-one sessions that help you work through your concerns. In addition to listening, I will ask questions and provide guidance based on my experience. I play an active role. Here’s how it will work step-by-step:

Step 1

I provide a safe, accepting space so that you will feel comfortable sharing your struggles with me.

Step 2

We will take a look at your exercise history to see what worked for you in the past and what didn’t.

Step 3

Then we will work together to identify your current level of readiness to change.

Step 4

We work to identify barriers to exercise and use problem-solving to identify some solutions to work around those barriers.

Step 5

Keeping your unique situation in mind, we’ll figure out some short- and long-term goals and what’s needed to help you reach them.

Step 6

Over the course of our sessions, you will start making progress towards becoming a regular exerciser.
